Minutes of the Finance Committee Meeting held on Wednesday 21 April 2021
Present: Cllrs B Vincent (Chairman), Cllr Mrs A Wormald (Vice Chairperson), M Holyer, L Hemingway, Mrs J Ellis, J Sargent, S Walmsley, S Chamberlain

Item 1 - Apologies: Cllr S Chambers. No apologies received from Cllr’s A Stubbins or G Clements
Item 2 - Conflicts of Interest: Item 6 – Cllr S Chamberlain
Item 3 – To receive the quarterly update on income and expenditure January to March (Year End)
Cllr M Holyer proposed that the updates be approved, seconded by Cllr L Hemingway – Resolved Unanimously
Item 4 – To approve the minutes of the Investment Review meeting with Money Minders on the 13 April 2021
The Chairman, Cllr B Vincent gave thanks to Cllr Mrs J Ellis for stepping in to chair the meeting. Cllr M Holyer proposed that the minutes be approved, seconded by Cllr Mrs J Ellis - Resolved Unanimously
Item 5 – To transact any other financial business
The Clerk explained that she asked advice from Ray Black of Money Minders with regards to the maturity of the deposit with United Trust Bank. Mr Black advised the Council during the Investment Review meeting that should the Council not want to release the deposit then a Business 3 month bond would be his recommendation. Cllr M Holyer moved the recommendation, seconded by Cllr J Sargent - Resolved Unanimously.
Item 6 – To consider the replacement or repair of the boiler in the Council Offices
The Clerk informed members that the gas boiler in the Council offices is not working. The Clerk has received one quote for repair although has been informed that a repair is not likely to be very permanent and the recommendation provided is to consider a replacement boiler. The Clerk has requested further quotations.
Item 7 – To confirm a date for the next meeting of the Finance Committee
The meeting shall take place on Monday 26th July 2021 at 7pm
The meeting closed at 7.35pm.
