Minutes of the General Purposes Committee Meeting held on Monday 21 January 2019
Present: Cllrs B Vincent (Chairman), Mrs J Hardy (Vice Chair), M Holyer, L Hemingway, Mrs J Ellis, E Gasson, J Orgine, Mrs A Wormald, J Sargent and Mrs D Allen

Item 1 - Apologies: Cllr Mrs P Chapman
Item 2 - Conflicts of Interest: None declared
Item 3 - To agree a Capital Works Projects Gantt Plan for 2019/20
Following a lengthy discussion it was agreed that within 6 months of the new Financial Year (1 April 2019) the following projects are to be achieved and in the following order of priority:
• To fit Solar panels to Royal Arthur Community Centre building
• To Install two electric car charging points
• To provide an additional feature piece of play equipment at Glebe Park for particular use by the disabled
• To provide multi-coloured plastic slats to existing concrete seat benches
• To provide and locate 3 Information Map Boards
Cllrs Mrs J Hardy and J Sargent to jointly apply for BID funding for the last two items on the projects programme
Item 4 – To consider a Job Advertisement and Job Description for a replacement Clerk and RFO to the Council
Members agreed to the Job Advertisement, Job Description and Timetable as follows:
• Closing date for applications Monday 18 February 2019
• Short Listing for interview to be completed by Thursday 21 February 2019
• Interviews week commencing 25 February 2019
• Start date for new Clerk 4 March 2019
• Departure date for outgoing Clerk 30 April 2019
Item 5 – To transact any other General Purposes business
Cllr Gasson informed Members that he and his wife have been invited to the Queen’s Garden Party in May in recognition of his community work.
Members gave their hearty congratulations to Cllr Gasson.
