Minutes Of The Joint Committee Held In The Council Chamber, Ingoldmells On Monday 23 July 2018
Present: Councillors M A Holyer (Chairman), R Short (Vice Chairman), L Hemingway, Mrs A Wormald and K Bird

The Chairman welcomed the two new Members to the Cemetery Committee, Cllr L Hemingway (Ingoldmells Parish Council) and K Bird (Addlethorpe Parish Council)
3 To Confirm The Minutes Of The Meeting Held On 27 November 2017 And To Consider Any Actions Arising From The Minutes
Owing to the absence of Cllr N Towers the minutes were unable to be confirmed as the committee was not quorate for this purpose.
Matters arising:
• To follow up on the progress being made with the Ingoldmells Council’s legal advisers on the proof of ownership of a strip of land between the existing and extended Cemetery grounds to enable its consecration.
• To liaise with the Cemetery ground contractors for further low level tree branches to be removed during the autumn period.
4 To Receive An Update On 2018/19 Income And Expenditure
The Clerk gave an update on the financial position of the Cemetery Accounts as at 16 July 2018. Cllr M Holyer proposed that the Income and Expenditure schedule presented be confirmed. Cllr Mrs A Wormald seconded the proposition - Resolved Unanimously
5 To Consider Future Cemetery Charges
It was agreed that this item should be deferred until the next Cemetery Committee budget meeting.
6 To Discuss Maintenance/Development Works Required
• To arrange for the removal of excessive soil backfilling of a recent burial, which has left the height of the soil sods unacceptable.
• To remove unattended dead flower tributes.
• To enforce the rule that all tokens of remembrance do not exceed beyond headstones.
7 To Discuss Any Health And Safety Issues
Security padlock to entrance gates to be replaced
8 To Transact Any Other Business
The Chairman reported the following:
• The burial of the ashes of a dog in the Cemetery extension. All traces of laid stones in memory have been removed.
• The discovery of a large piece of tarpaulin pegged out in the dyke. The Chairman suggested that after the meeting Members of the Committee should reassemble at the Cemetery to investigate and to consider any other issues which may be deemed necessary.
• The Laurel hedge on the eastern side of the Cemetery needs trimming to one level.
• Cemetery seats have been refurbished.
• The historic Trustee Account for Miss Merrill be closed and monies transferred to the Cemetery Committee accounts. The Clerk to write a report to Ingoldmells Parish Council for their approval.
